ISSA is excited to release our program overview. Our mission is to serve and prepare low income immigrant students succeed in college and in life. This overview includes the workshops implemented in high schools to help immigrant students develop a plan to achieve their life goals.
We are prepared to meet students wherever they are in their career and college planning journey.
Starting at interest exploration, we guide students through skill assessments, internship opportunities, job searching, and resume building. We provide hands on mentoring to help students build college applications, understand college financial aid, prepare for the ACT/SAT, and in college decision making.
Our college and career programs are customizable to the needs of every student regardless of grade or background. We offer engaging programming including Kahoot quizzes, virtual speakers, research activities, and learning boards.
When completing our program, students will walk away with a career and college portfolio and a plan for your future success.
A crucial part of career planning is to understand the current job outlook and growing trends. Recently, the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics conducted a research on the top 20 fast growing occupations between 2019-29. Check out the results here:

This is a very valuable resource for both our students and parents to explore different career options and how they fit with the world’s demand. As always, ISSA staff is happy to advise and consult students on how this can influence their careers.
