  • LMC: Cooperative Work Experience Education is a course where students can earn between 1-4 college units for their jobs, internship, or volunteer experience. The job itself is the class. Students may earn up to 16 credits of internship experience. Up to 12 credits maybe transferable to CSU
  • DVC: beside offering credits to students who participate in internship/co-op experience, DVC also organizes Campus Employer Visits, inviting employers from a variety of industries to come to campus to recruit and share information.
  • CCC: Career Education programs at CCC can prepare you for careers in high-demand fields by combining technical, job-specific training with academic courses. Students can be ready for an entry-level position in many fields after one or two semesters.
Merit Scholarships
  • CCC: About 73% of incoming students received some form of scholarships/financial aid. There are 88 different scholarships available at CCC for students to apply. Scholarship amount varies from $500 up to $3,000 per academic year
  • DVC: more than 7,000 incoming students received some type of financial aid and scholarships. Incoming students, continuing students, and students transferring to 4-year colleges will find many opportunities to compete for DVC scholarships ranging from $500 up to $5,000 per academic year.
  • LMC: offers over 40 different scholarship opportunities for continuing students meeting academic requirements. Students are welcome to apply for as many scholarships as wanted, ranging from $100 to $10,000 per year.
Transferring Programs
  • Many students of CCCCD successfully transfer to reputational UC and CSU colleges in California, some of them are UC Berkeley (#22 National University), UC Los Angeles (#20 National Universities), UC Davis (#39 National Universities), UC Irvine (#36 National Universities), and UC San Diego (#37 National Universities).
  • DVC is one of the nation’s most successful community colleges by offering incomparable transfer opportunities for students to many University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) branches.
    # Many UC/CSU schools offer automatic admission for DVC students upon completion of a 2-year Associate Degree.
    # DVC continuously ranks among the top transfer pathways to UC Berkeley.
    # Students can also choose to transfer to 40+ private universities in California or 14 out-of-state universities in the country.
  • LMC offers many special opportunities for students to transfer to UC/CSU schools, both on-campus and online.
    • One of them includes the only honor programs certified as part of the UCLA Transfer Alliance. LMC works with 10 universities honors partners that accept LMC student 74% of the time (higher than 22% non-honors transfer students).
      # LMC also offers courses at CSU East Bay or UC Berkeley for the same price as community college courses.
      # Transfer opportunities are also available at 160+ out-of-state schools participating in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE).
      # Another option is to transfer to 36 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)
    • CCC also prioritizes transfer to CU and CSU schools, as well as HBCUs and WUEs options.
      # Specifically, the nursing program at CCC offers two expedited paths to a bachelor’s degree. Students can either complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with less than one year of classes at CCC campus or they can complete it 1.5 years at CSU East Bay.
