Career Connection: a platform that helps students navigate their career choice by providing workshop and information through 4 stage of “Explore”. “Plan”, “Gain”, and “Finish”. After going through 4 stages, students can be confident to land a job opportunity or continue to a 4-year university program.
Career Communities: Sinclair has 6 different career communities in different majors that help students explore career goals, meet with same majors students, engage with faculty members and employers in your career area, and consult with an advisor who specializes in the programs of that community.
Work-based learning: is a meaningful way for students to take classes while engage in professional work experiences. On average, Sinclair students earn $17.46 hourly wages working on internship/apprenticeship. Students can do so through 2 types of work experiences:
Internship: students working closely with the company for a short period of time (3-6 months) in their study field and earn stipend/salary and school credit.
Apprenticeship: focus more on technical fields, helping students gain hands-on work experience earning credits. Eventually students will be trained to become skilled workers for the organization after graduation. Sinclair has 10 apprenticeship programs approved by ApprenticeOhio.
Merit Scholarships
Sinclair has more than 200 funded scholarships.
In 2017, more than $1 million was awarded to students.
Scholarships are varied by departments and majors, ranging from $200 up to $3,000 per year.
Transferring Programs
5,300 students typically transfer every year from Sinclair.
Students in the past have transferred successfully to over 20 universities and 100 academic programs, some of them are University of Cincinnati, Miami University, Ohio University, University of Dayton etc.
100+ university transfer agreements were made to make it easier for students to transfer
College Credit Plus: allowing students in grade 7-12 the opportunity to take college courses for free and earn high school and college credit before graduating high school.
Sinclair Bachelor of Applied Science: is recently established and offered to students who study Aviation Technology and Unmanned Aerial System.
Online Degree: Sinclair partners with Franklin University, Ohio University, and University of Cincinnati and allows students to transfer from the Online Associate Degree to Online Bachelor’s Degree.
Intensive English Program
English Now! – Intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program at Sinclair is designed to help students whose first language is not English transition into higher education.
The Intensive ESL program at Sinclair is divided into 5 levels from High Beginning to College-level academic courses with very affordable tuition.
F-1 visa students are required to enroll in the intensive ESL program.
