  • There are 6 dormitories on-campus. On average, boarding students spend 16 more hours per week on productive activities such as homework, reading, playing sports, and other extracurricular activities.
  • La Lumiere focuses on the growth of students through various extracurricular activities. The school is in top 20% of the nation in providing best quality extracurricular activities for students. Some of the major activities are:
    • Every student is required to participate in at least one team/one athletic activity.
    • The Perfect Leadership Program: encourages students to join the leader group to contribute and serve the school community in various aspects.
    • Science Olympiad: is an academic competition in which students compete in 23 different events and subjects. La Lumiere science team has advanced to the state finals since 1993.
    • Academia Cup: encourage students to learn and think deeper academically in a special topic. Each student must participate in the competition by writing essays, giving speeches, and joining team debate.
    • Academic Super Bowl: Team competition that promotes a strong sense of teamwork and academic challenges at La Lumiere.
    • Service Opportunities: all students are required to perform a minimum of 45 service hours in the community to graduate.
    • La Lumiere campus is just 10 miles from Lake Michigan and 60 minutes away from downtown Chicago. Boarding students are able to take advantage of this locale via weekend trips to the beaches, towns, and orchards nearby.
Intensive English Program
